Pro Kabaddi League: Dabang Delhi too hot for Jaipur Pink Panthers

Jaipur Pink Panthers failed on Wednesday to show the spirit of their last home game, surrendering meekly to last year's runners-up Delhi Dabang 35-27 at a packed SMS here.

The defending champions had upcoming film Drishyam's star cast of Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran rooting for them even as a packed house, exhorted by Panthers co-owner Abishek Bachchan, brought down the roof with some lusty cheering.

But the men in pink, who were at their marauding best against a strong Bengaluru Bulls on Tuesday night, gave a poor account of themselves, especially on the defensive front.

The fact that raider Ran Singh got the maximum tackle points (3) compared to Delhi's star defender Ravinder Singh Pahal's eight and Amit Chhillar's five tells the story.

Delhi were a complete side, attacking with vigour, as Rohit Kumar Choudary and Kashiling Adake shared 13 raid points be tween them. With this loss, the Panthers campaign suffered a setback as they failed to bag even a bonus point.

Delhi started on a much better note, pulling off the game's first lona inside 11 minutes. Captain Ravinder Pahal was at the heart of the move which saw last-man standing Ran Singh completely outwitted on his way back from an unfruitful raid.

Delhi's Kashiling Atake continued from where he left against Bengaluru Bulls attacking with flair, his height coming good in getting as many as four touch points in the first half.

The Maharashtra youngster, who breached a personal milestone recently of 100 successful raids was ably supported by Rohit Choudary who scalped three raid points as the Dabangs went into the break leading 17-10. For Panthers, Jasvir Singh failed to repeat his performance of last night and the onus was once again on last match's surprise hero Kuldeep Singh, who managed two points.

In the other match of the day, wooden spooners Puneri Paltans recorded their first victory of PKL season 2, getting the better of Bengal Warriors 33-29 here.
