The first day worldwide box office collections of
Baahubali(Bahubali) is said to have touched a record 50 crore rupees
from all the versions, according to trade sources.
But what really interests us is how the movie is doing in Tamil Nadu and
how much it might collect by the end of its first weekend from its
Tamil version alone. The numbers we are looking into right now are
simply staggering.
Going by the occupancy this movie had on its first day, Baahubali
could've easily collected close to 5 crores from Tamil Nadu alone. The
number of shows were increased late in the evening on Friday and hence
the official number could be more than our prediction.
On its second day (Saturday) the collections could go up considering the
good word of mouth the film has managed to garner. If the prediction
from a reliable source turns out to be true, the movie could collect 5.5
crores on its second day.
On Sunday (third day) the movie might collect close to 7 crore
rupees as no other major Tamil movies were released this weekend. So if
my basic math is correct, Baahubali could go on to collect a massive
17.5 crore rupees from its opening weekend in Tamil Nadu alone.
